After taking one of the first flights departing from Zurich Airport, I arrived at 8 in the morning in Lisbon. Being welcomed by my girlfriend, we then caught an Uber to her apartment. After leaving all my stuff at her place, we started exploring the city. As she has already lived in Lisbon for almost 3 months, she could show me around and be my Tour guide. What better way to explore a city!
After walking down the well-known Avenida da Liberdade, we then continued towards the Tejo and enjoyed the view along the river. Finally we arrived at the Time Out food market in Lisbon, where we went for Lunch. On our way back we then passed by the Fabrica Coffee Roastery, which we already knew from our trip to Porto 3 years ago. A Pastel de Nata was already long overdue.
The first night we then stayed in a hotel in the Alfama district, which is the oldest district in Lisbon. We enjoyed the sunset in the rooftop bar of our hotel, directly looking over the cruise ship harbor. This is then also the place where we started our morning with a perfect breakfast. After checking out, we walked around Alfama visiting some Miradouros. For lunch, we went to the LxFactory, which is another market more west from the city centre. After lunch, we went to Landeau Chocolate. As some of you may already know, they serve one of the World's best chocolate cakes. As a sweets specialist myself, I must admit that it was really good.
The afternoon we spent in Belem. Here we took a beautiful walk along the pier, where we also tried the traditional cherry liqueur served in a cup made of dark chocolate.
